Karting

It started with a kart.

At five years old, Christian Valverde climbed into a kart at Daytona Milton Keynes. It was the beginning of a journey that would take him far beyond his local circuit.

Two years later, in 2015, he stepped into professional karting. What began as a childhood interest became a decade of competition, travelling between circuits in the UK, Spain, Canada and the United States, learning to race against increasingly competitive fields and building the foundations of his career.

Karting became more than just driving fast. It meant understanding the machinery, working through setup changes, reading data and finding the small improvements that could make the difference on track.

Over those years, the results followed. Christian won four karting championship titles, two in junior competition and two in senior competition. In 2021, he won the Canadian National Karting Championship. He also earned qualification tickets for the ROK Superfinal in both 2021 and 2022.

A decade in karting shaped the driver he is today. But it was never going to be the final destination.

Car racing

The next chapter.

In 2024, Christian tested a Mercedes-AMG GT4 in California. It offered a first glimpse of what lay beyond karting and the kind of racing he wanted to pursue.

The transition from kart to car would mean learning a different machine, adapting to new demands and starting another chapter from the beginning. The experience he had built over ten years would come with him, but there was still plenty to learn.

In 2026, Christian made that transition into competitive car racing.

His first campaign took him to Snetterton and Silverstone in the 5Club Mazda MX-5 Cup, before stepping into the BRSCC MX-5 SuperCup at Silverstone International. It was a year of firsts, new challenges and learning how to translate his karting experience into racing cars.

The season was not without its difficulties. But at Silverstone International, he fought through a disrupted weekend to finish eighth in class in the final race.

It was one result in an early chapter, rather than the end goal. The important part was taking the lessons forward.

Beyond the cockpit

Learning beyond the cockpit.

Motorsport doesn't stop when the helmet comes off.

Alongside his racing, Christian works at iZone Driver Performance, supporting driver coaching and development, and as an Instructor at Silverstone Circuit. Working closely with drivers and helping them improve gives him a view of performance from the coaching side as well as from the cockpit.

Those experiences connect directly to his own approach to racing. From understanding kart setup to analysing performance data, the work has always extended beyond simply getting in and driving.

Every session offers something to learn. Every race presents another problem to solve. And every step into a new category brings a new standard to reach.

The road ahead

The road ahead.

Christian's focus is on building a professional racing career, with GT and endurance racing as the long-term objective.

The ambition is to progress through car racing, gain experience, keep developing and earn opportunities at the next level. There are no shortcuts through that process. It takes performance, preparation, consistency and the ability to keep learning.

The journey began in a kart at five years old. More than a decade later, the destination is bigger, the machinery has changed and the work continues.

This is the next chapter of Christian Valverde's racing career.
